A routine stop and search led police to a drug trafficking bust of over four kilograms of marijuana.

Police were on mobile patrol in Corozal Town around 8:45 p.m. yesterday when they noticed a man on a motorcycle with a camouflage backpack and decided to stop him at the corner of 7th Avenue and 5th Street.

The rider, Dean Renald Bruhier, 24, of Patchakan Village, had 7 parcels of marijuana in the bag. Police weighed the parcels at the station to find a combined weight of 4.27 kilograms. Officers have since charged Bruhier with drug trafficking.
