Was police sergeant hit by a stray bullet?

A Belize City-based police sergeant is being treated for a gunshot wound that might have been caused by a stray bullets.
Police say that around 10:33 last night, 43-year-old sergeant Shawn Walford was inside his vehicle on Victoria Steet when he heard four gunshots.
Shortly after he realized he had been shot to the left forearm. He went to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he received treatment for the wound and an abrasion to the left side if the abdomen.
Police say they are investigating.
