Two women charged for trafficking crack cocaine

Orange Walk police arrested two women for trafficking crack cocaine on Wednesday after cops discovered the drug during a search at their residence.

Cops raided Raquel Gomez’s, 25, home in Trinidad village, Orange Walk on Wednesday morning and found a plastic container with 7.2 grams of crack cocaine inside. A further search inside the home yielded another 2.4 grams of crack.

Also present at the time of the search was Marcela Gomez, 36. Police arrested and charged both women with drug trafficking.

Another search was conducted in an empty lot in the same village, which resulted in the discovery of a bag containing 40 pieces of crack cocaine, totaling 2.9 grams. No one was found in the area therefore the drugs were labelled as found property.
