Police make weekend drug seizures

By Benjamin Flowers
The Belize Police Department has destroyed a marijuana plantation and arrested four persons for drug trafficking in separate incidents this weekend.
During routine operations, Police searched an area about four miles into Blue Creek in the Orange Walk District, where they fund the plantation, which contained about 3000 plants ranging between two and five feet tall. Police uprooted and destroyed the plants with fire.
Officers did not find anyone on the scene, so no charges were laid in respect to the plantation.
Meanwhile, Santa Elena police searched the property of 33-year-old Hillview area resident Clarita Zetina where they found 102 grams (just over 3.5 ounces) of marijuana. Police charged Zetina along with 18-year-old Chrispin Garbutt, 20-year-old Sheldon Aldana, and 22-year-old Noel Hyde for drug trafficking.weed
