A woman was beaten and chopped to death during a domestic dispute early Friday morning in Belmopan.
Maria Candelaria Reymundo, 45, was at home on Panama Street with her common-law husband, Jairo when sometime around 5:00 a.m. neighbours heard a commotion coming from the house and Reymundo screaming for help in Spanish.
The neighbours went to her aid but found the couple’s door locked. They eventually forced open the door and found Reymundo with severe chop wounds. The neighbours rushed her to the Western Regional Hospital where she died
