Birthday bash for Queen Elizabeth ll

A birthday party honouring her Majesty the Queen brought out the fair and the famous last Friday night, June 17 to mark her 90th birthday at the Best Western Hotel.

Amid a festive party mood and glowing tributes to Her Majesty, guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal and later had a chance to dance to music by the Super Furia Band of Orange Walk.

The party was organized as a fund-raiser for charity works in Belize, jointly by His Excellency the Governor General, Sir Colville Young and His Excellency, British
High Commissioner, Peter Hughes.

The High Commissioner provided a moving tribute to the Sovereign, head of the
Commonwealth and Queen of Belize, who during her long and distinguished reign has met and hosted 12 United States presidents and maybe three times as many Commonwealth prime ministers.

Other fond memories of Her Majesty were shared by Governor General, Sir Colville Young and by Master of Ceremonies, Dr. René Villanueva.
