The Office of the Special Envoy for Women and Children (SEWC), in collaboration with McNab Design, this week, launched the latest editions of the inspiration calendars and agendas.
The SEWC, Kim Simplis Barrow, held the launch at the Inspiration Center on the George Price highway on Tuesday.
The calendar, now on its sixth installment, was done under the theme: “Embracing our abilities, Celebrating our Belize.” The calendar featured artwork from children with diverse abilities from all over the country. The agenda is also on its fifth edition.
“By showcasing the talent of children with disabilities, the calendar has become an effective awareness tool to reduce stigma and discrimination against persons with disabilities and instead embrace their abilities and promote inclusion,” said the SEWC in an official release.
At the launch, Tanya McNab, director of McNab designs and Dots Per Inch, presented a cheque for $24,000; the proceeds from the sale of agendas.
Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize, Benjamin Ho, also presented a donation on behalf of the Government of Taiwan, valued at $400,000.
The donation will serve to strengthen the Inspiration Center’s Community Based Rehabilitation Program and to ensure the sustainability of the facility.
