Search party uncovers missing teen’s bicycle from swamp

Family members of missing 17-year-old Erwin Rodriguez have confirmed to the Reporter newspaper that his bicycle was recovered from inside Dykes canal in the Jane Usher area of Belize City on Friday.

The bicycle was reportedly fished from out of the murky waters by search parties who were canvassing the area in the hopes of finding the missing teenager’s body.

His relatives say they had recieved multiple reports that their loved one was cut into pieces, stuffed into crocus bags with pieces of cement blocks and thrown into the swamp.

Erwin’s bicycle still had a lock attached to it’s handle bars, which his brother was able to open with a spare key he had in his possession.

Persons on the scene confirmed that five police officers and approximately 11 person are engaged in the search.
