Ministry of Agriculture gets new CEO

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer to its Ministry.

Dr. Percival Cho has been appointed to the post and will work sprcifically with Minister Omar Figueroa.

Cho will have oversight of the Fisheries and Forestry departments, as well as the environment, sustainable development, climate change and the Solid Waste Management Authority.

A press release from the Government’s Press Office quotes that with his knowledge and expertise in science at national and international levels, the Ministry warmly welcomes Cho to his post.

Cho is said to have 17 years experience in the public service in the forestry department. He is a forestry expert and natural resource scientist with a a PhD in Environmental Biology, and a Masters degree in Forestry.

Cho was successful in a two-year post-doctoral appointment at the University of Oxford, where he served as project administrator and lead investigator for the Darwin project initiative in sustainable forestry.
