Two anti-drug raids by the Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) in Belize City have yielded a sizeable amount of marijuana.

The first raid occurred on Thursday morning on an overgrown lot on Iguana Street Extension in the Collet division where GSU members discovered a black plastic bag containing five transparent Ziploc bags and a black plastic bag which contained a total of 5.5 pounds of cannabis.

On Thursday afternoon the GSU team responded to a tip that drugs were hidden on another overgrown property, this time on Pelican Street Extension in the same area. A search led to the discovery of a black plastic bag under some bushes. The bag contained another bag with 20.5 pounds of cannabis. In both cases no one was around at the time of the search and police have labeled the finds as “Found Property”.
