Elections and Boundaries Department notifies public servants about proxy vote for upcoming municipals

By Marion Ali, Assistant Editor

It is less than a month before the municipal elections, and the Elections and Boundaries Department is encouraging public officers who wish to apply to vote by proxy to submit their applications in time.

The department informs, however, that in accordance with the regulations that govern cities and town councils elections, only certain public officers are qualified to vote by proxy.
These include persons acting as Election Officers in some other Polling Station; and persons employed in transporting or working in any other manner to help an Election Officer at some other Polling Station.

These public officers who want to vote are advised to submit their fully-completed Form 14, also called Proxy Paper, and Form 15, Application for Appointment of Proxy, to the nearest Elections and Boundaries Department office by Wednesday, February 28.

The department will verify the information provided for accuracy, and will return Form 14 to the applicant to enable him/her to vote by proxy.
