Carnival Cruise Lines held a ceremony on-board one of their ships, the Carnival Glory, to present an award to the owners and staff of Belize tour operator H2O-Tierra Limited, which they voted as the Caribbean’s leading tour operator for 2014.

H2O-Tierra Limited owners Tom and Ivette Wilson were accompanied by staff members and Belize Tourism Board (BTB) representatives, to receive the plaque and official letter naming them the Caribbean’s best tour operator.
Carnival’s letter to the company stated, “Your Company’s position as a leading provider for shore excursions and your reputation for first-class service are attributed to your strong leadership and the sense of direction that you provide.”

Tom Wilson said their entire team works very hard and tries to maintain the highest level of standards they can when providing their tours. Wilson said the most important thing in their business is to keep their guests happy and they abide by that philosophy.

Wilson said their company, which is primarily an adventure tour, provides shark and sting ray encounters at Caye Caulker. According to Wilson, they had originally started out providing air-boat tours.

Caroline Walendowski, Carnival shore excursion manager said the award to H2O-Tierra was significant because the company was selected above many others not only from Belize but in the Caribbean based on guest reviews of satisfaction and experience. Walendowski said the award was a testament to the company’s professionalism.

Valdemar Andrade, BTB director of cruise and regional initiatives said the award was very significant because Carnival is one of the country’s biggest clients being that they call to port all year-round so to have them recognize a Belizean operator as the best is big. Andrade said the BTB hopes that all operators aspire to reach the kind of level of service.
