A therapist of Belize City lost her life after she was flung about ten feet away from a vehicle she was traveling in, after it was involved in a collision at mile 9 on the Stann Creek Valley Road on Thursday afternoon.

When police responded to the scene at around 1:40 p.m., officers observed a white pickup truck overturned in a ditch and saw 33-year-old Rubia Analicia Bricenio lying near the vehicle. She had sustained severe body injuries.
Briceno was traveling along with 31-year-old Leon Peters in a Bowman Ltd. company vehicle. Upon reaching in front of the Citrus Growers Association, Peters alleges that he overtook a goods truck, which was parked at the side of the highway at the entrance of the compound. The collision occurred when another vehicle exitted the compound at the same time and crashed into the Bowman company vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle has been identified as 57-year-old Belizean agronomist, Luis Tzul.
Police say their investigations continue, while police have issued a Notice of Intended Prosecution to both drivers.
Briceno was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital via ambulance for treatment but succumbed to her injuries at 2:15 p.m.
