Son shoots father in the head

Hensley Jones, 53, a businessman of Ranchito Village, Corozal, hangs onto life in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after he was shot three times in the head, allegedly by his son.
The incident happened at around 10:30 on New Year’s night at his home, where it is reported that his son simply walked up to him and shot him twice in the left side of the head and once to the back of the head.
When police responded to calls for help, they discovered Jones, also known as Nick Jones, severely wounded with blood streaming down his face. From the Corozal Community Hospital, Jones was rushed to Belize City where he underwent surgery Thursday afternoon.
It is reported that after the incident, the alleged perpetrator, the son, sped off in a brown Isuzu Rodeo SUV towards Corozal Town. He was later detained and remains in police custody pending charges. Police have recovered a .38 calibre revolver with five live .38 rounds from him.
Hensley Jones has been the victim of at least two incidents of crime in the last two years, once when his vehicle was stolen and torched and another time when his place was broken into and his weapons were stolen.
