The panel of judges will evaluate the ladies’ suitability for the crown in a contest the will include several segments, as in addition to the traditional patriotic costume, talent, question and answer and evening gown segment, this year’s pageant is introducing a swimsuit segment, which had been absent from the pageant for many years.

Reigning Queen of the Bay Christalyn Castillo accompanied the prospective candidates for her successor on a goodwill tour of the country, including a courtesy visit to the Governor General Sir Colville YoungSr at Belize House in Belmopan. She will transfer her crown, robe and sceptre to the new Queen designate in the annual coronation ceremony at Memorial Park on September 10.
