Alleged nude photo of senator causes backlash

An offensive online post claiming to show a nude photo of newly appointed Senator Francine Burns went viral on Monday and prompted quick backlash from a number of women’s groups and leaders.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow announced Burns’ appointment on Monday morning during a press conference and by afternoon the unexpected accusation had overshadowed her prestigious appointment.

An online blog posted the picture of a nude young woman claiming it was the senator. The site alleged the picture was just a frame from a three-minute video.
