Kyle Perez, a resident of the Salt Creek Area, in Sand Hill Village is on remand after he was found guilty of maim and damage to property.

Perez was unrepresented when he appeared before Magistrate Ladonna John, where he faced two charges, one count of damage to property and one count of maim.
Allegations are that on Monday, October 26, 2015, he damaged a black Samsung touch screen cell phone and maimed Kamisha Yorke during a domestic dispute.
In court, there was no objection to bail by the court prosecutor Cpl. Christopher Smith, who was only concerned with the fact that both accused and the victim reside at the same home.

However, Magistrate Ladonna John was more concerned for the victim, who was left disfigured from the incident, and she denied Perez bail.
Yorke reported that at 6:30 p.m., on Monday, October 26, 2015, she was at her home when her boyfriend, Kyle Perez visited. She informed him that she was breaking up with him because of his abusive ways. She wanted out of the relationship. Perez got upset and started to rant and rave. York then called 911 for assistance. That was when Perez grabbed her cell phone and hit Yorke on the left side of her face. The impact caused her to fall to the ground on the phone – smashing the phone’s into her face.
According to Yorke, Perez then dragged her into the bathroom. and she cried out to him that she was in pain.

In court, Perez testified that since the incident he had seen Yorke and that nothing is wrong with her eyes.
Perez is due back in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on January 4, 2016.
