The fight against crime continues

The City of Belmopan has been supplied with more resources in its fight against crime.

The Government of Belize purchased two new vehicles, an Izuzu D-Max pickup truck and a Mahindra Truck, which are to be commissioned to the Belmopan formation of the Belize Police Department.

The Officer Commanding the Belmopan Formation, Superintendent Alvan Gentle, was also present at the handing over ceremony.

Hon. John Saldivar mentioned that he is pleased to be able to meet the growing demand for Police mobility in the rapid expanding Capital City and surroundings.

Saldivar continued to express that the efforts made by the Ministry and the Government is in line with their policy to further equip the police department as it intensifies its fight against crime Nationwide.

The area representative for the Belmopan Constituency, Hon. John Saldivar, also announced that plans are in motion to construct a new Belmopan Police Station, which will be located in the North Ring-Road area.

The new station would cost approximately $40,000 and will be jointly funded by the Government of Belize and Taiwan.
