A 17-year-old youth has been arrested and charged for last Saturday night’s attempted murder of Joseph DeBride.
The minor was charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm and was arraigned in court on Monday.

According to police, they have established no motive for the crime and they have not retrieved the weapon or determined what type of gun was used in the shooting.

Police investigations into the incident continue.
DeBride, 31, was shot three times around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday as he walked along Curassow Street near its juncture with Gibnut Street.

He had been socializing with friends earlier.
According to Sheryl DeBride, the victim’s sister, her brother was shot once in the neck and twice in the torso before the gunman ran off.

Sheryl DeBride said her brother was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment of his wounds and has since been listed in stable condition.
The family said they have no further details about the incident.
