A Roaring Creek resident was remanded to the Hattieville prison last Friday after it is alleged that he was caught in the act of raping a pregnant woman in the wee hours of Friday morning.

Justin Austin Williams, 29, was arraigned in the Belmopan Magistrate Court on November 10th on a charge of rape and subsequently remanded into custody until his next court appearance set for January 12, 2018.
According to Belmopan police, on November 10, a 24 year-old woman reported to authorities that around 1:00 a.m. while she was traversing a road which leads from Cohune Walk to the Roaring Creek junction she was raped by Williams.

According to reports, Williams had confiscated the woman’s bicycle, which he threw into her face, injuring her. He then allegedly assaulted her, and forced her into some bushes where he proceeded to rape her.

A security guard who was on duty near the scene of the incident was alerted by the woman’s screams for help, upon proceeding to the area he allegedly found Williams on top of the woman with his clothes off.

Its is alleged that Williams tried to escape from the security guard but was unsuccessful since he was half dressed. He was beaten and detained by the security guard who then called for police assistance.
