Painter charged with aggravated assault

CRMA Belize City painter pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, when he was arraigned on a charge of aggravated assault of an indecent nature, before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer.

George Dakers, 48, a painter and resident of Freedom Street, was released on a bail of $1,500 and his case adjourned to July 8.

Police charged Dakers after a 10-year-old girl reported that he fondled her buttocks on Saturday, May 11.

The child, who was accompanied by her mother, told police that the incident occurred, when she went to Dakers’ house.

While inside his house, he allegedly sexually assaulted her, the child reported to police.
