Dangriga police are on the manhunt for a man who reportedly broke into a nurse’s home and raped her on Monday, November 17th.
The incident happened sometime around 2:00 a.m. while the victim slept in her bed at an apartment complex in the New Site area. She told police that she woke up feeling the perpetrator on top of her with a knife. She said she tried to fight off the rapist but he slashed her on the chin and cut index finger to end the struggle.
Police told The Reporter that the rapist gained entry to the apartment by breaking through the metal louvres to the nurse’s bathroom window. They say they are looking for a suspect who fits the description that the nurse gave them.
Neighbours in the immediate area, including another tenant next door to the nurse, say they did not hear the break-in or the struggle that ensued.
