Missing fisherman found dead at sea

The body of a 51-year-old fisherman of a Sandhill Village address, who was reported missing at sea earlier this week, was discovered floating near Alligator Caye on Wednesday night.

Barrington Rosales’ lifeless body was discovered in a mangrove area on the southern section of Alligator Caye, at 4:30 p.m., on March 22. It was reported that he went missing between the hours of 9:30-10:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 19 while he was camping on Alligator Caye with a friend.

Investigators say a that post-mortem conducted on the body certified the cause of death as drowning. There were no signs of violence observed on Rosales’ body and no foul play is suspected.
On Monday, police responded to a call about a missing person and proceeded to the island where officers spoke to 63-year-old Percival Flowers, a fellow fisherman.

Flowers confirmed to police that Rosales was staying with him on the island when he went missing. Flowers said t he had gone to do some fishing and upon his return he could not find Rosales.
On Monday around 6:00 a.m., a bag containing Rosales belongings was found floating about 150 yards from Alligator Caye.
