Man who killed step-daughter sentenced to life in jail

A Belizean man has sentenced to life in prison, in the United States  after he pleaded guilty to the October 30, 2012 murder his stepdaughter.

juan-torres1-150x150Juan Enrique Torres confessed that he stabbed Surie Baeza to death as they argued over a ring.

United States authorities have   Torress in custody. He will be eligible for parole after 30 years.

Surie Baeza was born in Orange Walk,  and lived with her mother in the Dallas suburb.

She attended Rockwall-Health High School.

The Rockwall police were praised for rapidly solving  the crime and helping to make sure that Torres received  a life sentence.

His crime was first murder in  City of  Rockwall  in the last eight years.

Torres was living with Surie’s Mom in a common-law relationship.
