A young man from Burrell Boom village is on life-support at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) suffering from severe brain injuries he sustained after he was shot once to the back of his head on Wednesday evening on Partridge Street in Belize City.

Cardinal Andrews, 28, is in a critical condition after the bullet which entered his head damaged both hemispheres of his brain.
According to reports, Andrews was socializing at a home on Partridge street from earlier in the day and was sitting on top of a blue car when an unknown assailant snuck up from behind, pulled out a gun and fired a single shot at him, which caused the injuries.

The gunman then reportedly ran down the street towards Cemetery Road and pursued by a police mobile, which arrived on the scene shortly after the incident.
