Dangriga man found dead on beach

By Michelle Sutherland

Dangriga police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to be conducted on the body of 41-year-old Dangriga resident, Howard Aaron Nicholas, who was found dead on the beach in Dangriga town Wednesday evening.

Dangriga police believe Nicholas was under the influence of drugs and was behaving erratically before he was reported missing on Friday, November 10th by family members. He was also being sought by police for allegedly robbing a boutique in that municipality sometime last week.

Investigators say that on November 15th, around 4:40 p.m. cops were summoned to an area in front of “Y-Not” Island where they discovered Nicholas’ body washed up on the Bar Mouth area of the beach.

The scene was processed by police who confirmed that no signs of violence were observed on the body, leading cops to rule out foul play. It is suspected that he died from drowning.

Nicholas’ body was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where he was officially pronounced dead by medical personnel.
