The driver of the truck, Anselm Gillett, 47, told police that while he was driving his blue Mack truck from Burrell Boom Village to Hattieville, Young’s Rav 4 swerved into his lane from the opposite direction.

Gillet said he tried to avoid the collision by drifting to the right hand side of the road it could not be avoided.

Police found the Rav 4 in the middle of the road with extensive damage to its front portion, while the truck was parked about 300 feet away.

Gillett has provided police with a urine sample and has since been issued with a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP), while police continue their investigation.
