Five-year-old Elvis Godoy Jr., along with his father, Elvis Godoy Sr. and his uncle, Jose Godoy are currently interned at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) after an armed raid on Halloween night.

According to Jose Godoy, his brother and other men were socializing outside his home in the San Martin area of Belmopan. His nephew was also there playing video games.Around 8:00 p.m. a red motorcycle pulled up in front of the house. The driver was wearing a helmet and the pillion seat rider was wearing a small black mask.
“ I thought they were playing, since it was halloween. But thenhen he took out the gun,”Godoy recalled

The passenger, who Godoy describes as, “tall, thin and clear skinned”, took out a gun and fired a shot at the unsuspecting crowd, wounding two of the men and the 5 year old child.
Elvis Godoy was critically wounded by three shots. Jose Godoy and the child both received two shots. One bullet grazed the boy’s face and the other fractured his left leg. As a result of the injuries, the child will spend a month and a half in the hospital and another two months recovering at home.
The men on the motorcycle fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The wounded were immediately taken to the Western Regional Hospital and from there were transferred to the KHMH.

Jose Godoy claims that the shooting is related to a street gang he called “La Rivera”, operating in the area of Salvapan and has to do with a land dispute.
