European Union will double funding for Belize Projects

Ambassador Paola Amadei, Head of Delegation for the European Union, is in Belize again, this time to check on work which has been done with European Union grants to Belize.
During her current visit, Amadei pledged that this year, the European Union will more than double its funding to Belize.
“For 2013 alone, the EU disbursed just under BZ$36 million.
“The EU remains one of the leading donor agencies in Belize and a committed development partner of the country, with support for the major agricultural sectors: bananas, sugar, health, rural development, climate change and more recently human rights,” Ambassador Amadai pointed out.
On this trip she attended a ground-breaking ceremony at Altun Ha.
Eight other archeological sites are being upgraded with E.U. grants: Xantunich, Nohoch Che’en, Nim Li Punit, Barton Creek, Lubaantun, Tunichil Muknal, Lamanai and Blue Creek.
