Adventist schools close in one-day protest

The Belize Union of Seventh Day Adventists has closed all 25 of their primary, secondary and tertiary schools with a student population of 2,500 for one day in protest of the murder of Teddy Murillo, a 21-year -old University of Belize student and deacon of their church.

Many motorists were oblivious to the increase in fuel price until Tuesday March 2. Premium gasolene is near the $10.00 per gallon mark.
Village Council  election set for April and May

The Ministry of Local Government this week announced that village council elections countrywide will take place during seven weeks from April 11th to June 6th, 2010.
